Background
My journey began as a parent seeking deeper understanding of special education, and that experience continues to inform the heart of my work. Over the years, I have served families and self-advocates through a disability non-profit, where I facilitated advocacy and provided special education trainings, while also engaging in legislative efforts to help address service gaps and advance meaningful change for disabled Texans.
I am an alumni of Texas Partners in Policymaking, an intensive eight-month training in disability culture, history, and advocacy, and I am formally trained through COPAA. I served as a parent representative on the state HB3 Special Education Funding Allotment Committee. I remain committed to staying closely connected to the evolving landscape of special education so I can serve families with insight, care, and distinction. Let’s connect!

I reached out to Lisa when I was at a point where I didn’t know what else to do. As a special education teacher myself, I understood many parts of the process and knew some of the challenges families face, but I was still my daughter’s mom and I knew something wasn’t right. I just couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was missing. The school and I were constantly bumping heads, and I needed someone with the knowledge and experience to help us move forward. Lisa stepped in with compassion, expertise, and professionalism. She helped keep the ARD meetings calm, focused and centered on my daughter’s needs.
